About carved in STONE with the VARVEL touch
Please sign in to see more. REMEMBER to SIGN Our GUEST
This site is dedicated to the memories of William Nicholas Stone and Nancy Ellen
Varvel. Although it began as a small way of passing on to our children their hard earned
heritage, it is now gladly given to YOUR FAMILY. Our ancestors came from all over the world to
a small corner of northwest, Missouri.
The effort for accuracy is non-ending and as a certified genealogists, if mistakes are found
please contact Patricia Smith Moody Moody at bigglilg@sbcglobal.net
We will continue tracking the family genealogy and breaking down brick walls. I am so grateful
to all those who have proceeded me in finding out who they were as families and the things
that brought alliances and new lines.
Our STONES and ancestors made many transitions in their convictions. This started the
movement of the Stones who became a moving force in spreading the word of the CHRISTIAN Church
sometimes it was the METHODIST Church followed by the CHRISTIAN Church in an area but they
seemed to go hand in hand as they traversed and settled our NATION. It was their FAITH that brought
us from there to here and united them in their efforts to settle this land for us. Many "earned" their land
via their MILITARY SERVICE which allowed expansion westward. They survived the Revolutionary War, the
War of 1812, the Civil War, as families who served on BOTH sides and learned to somehow "mend"/"accept"
and bring our Families forward.
ALL who would like to join our effort with history, photos or stories are welcome. Many have given me
information to this project but I owe special THANKS to Mary Finch Smith, Jack MacDonald,
Dan Hayes, Gail Martin and to Patricia Smith Moody. We are the STORY TELLERS of our family history. |
